Hi! It's Me, Finn!

Hi, it's Finn. I'm guest posting for mom today since she's been slacking lately. Well, I don't know if she's been truly slacking, but just hasn't been keeping up with this. I don't know why though. She is pretty much a stay-at-home mom that sits around and eats bon-bons all day. You'd think she could at least post every once in a while! Just kidding.

Things have been quite busy lately as you may have guessed. But here's a sneak peak at what we were up to right before Christmas. Mom, Dad, and I took a trip to Charleston for two nights and had so much fun! We really didn't do much of anything....didn't even go out to dinner. Instead we ordered pizza and ate in our room with some beers that we'd picked up at the local grocery store! Well, of course I didn't have the beer or pizza (maybe a pizza crust though:). I hope you enjoy the picture tour!

Oh, that's me in the background!

Hanging out in the hotel room. It was so much fun romping around and exploring in a new place. That was the best part of the entire trip!

I love my mom. Well...mostly just her iphone.
We went to church at this church on Sunday morning: Saint Michael's. This is the view from our hotel room. Something to note: George Washington went to church at this church when he would come to town.

Too bad this is such a blurry one cause it's a real cute one of me!

We took a ferry to Fort Sumter. Dad's allowed to see one fort or castle per trip. I got to see my first one outside of the womb. Pretty awesome.

And at our favorite breakfast place: Hominy Grill. Yumm! We ate here both mornings. Mom and Dad have never gotten to a restaurant for breakfast so early on vacation before. Life has changed I guess since I came around.

Dad had the "Big Nasty" (fried chicken with gravy in a bisquit)...boring mom had the yogurt and granola. She says it was delicious....but she's still trying to shed a few l-bs that I put on her....haha.

Then off to get home for preparing for Santa to arrive!

Hope you enjoyed.

We are Alive!!

It's been awhile. Life has just been cruising by at jet speed these days. Did you know that Finn is 6 months old now??!! Crazy. And let me tell you he is doing everything....sitting, getting himself into sitting, CRAWLING!, pulling to stand, babbling, getting teeth (2 to be exact at the moment). The list is endless. All this just happened at once too. It was as though once he started sitting on his own he took off at full speed and wanted to catch all those milestones. This mom is busy!

Another excuse for not blogging is that my computer has been out of working order for the most part. There was absolutely no memory left on it which means I couldn't load any pictures and whatnot. Who wants to read a blog post without any pictures? Not me.

So here's a quick photo recap of life lately.

This is Finn at about 5 months. He'd just started getting up onto his hands and knees a couple weeks prior and rocking back and forth. He loved this.

We just had Finn's 6 month check-up last week with our favorite Dr. Mannley. Boy-oh-boy is he thriving! He was a whopping 17 pounds 7.5 ounces and 27.25 inches long putting him in the 48th percentile for weight and the 76th percentile for length. Go Finn! Dr. Mannley said he was a wild one, as he tore up the paper on the exam table and would barely sit still so Dr. Mannley could get his exam done. Finn just laughed the entire time....until the shots came. Poor baby.

For Thanksgiving we headed up to Charlotte to see our friends the Bourkes. We do Turkey Day with them every year since we've been in the south. They are the ones with Baby Declan that I introduced to you here.

It was fun to have the boys together again, and now they are so much more interactive and aware of one another. We got some good shots of them and some with their other friend Dominick (about 15 months) as well.

Finn bracing onto his friends for dear life!

Love these faces....

Friends already!

It was a delicious Thanksgiving! Now on with Christmas!

A little late but better than never.

I know. It's been awhile. I've felt a little overwhelmed and well, I'll be honest, TIRED! So the first thing to go is the blog. As much as I don't like slacking on keeping my little "journal" going there are other things I must tend to. So what's different about today? Well I have a little sick kiddo, so I stayed home from work to be with him. He's napping (I should be too) but I couldn't wait to get to this!

I've been wanting to do a photo like this for some time now. I've seen some other bloggers do it and apparently it's become popular on Pinterest. We finally got the three of us together yesterday to get some photos. My friend Carly was kind enough to take some pictures with my camera. The thought was that I'd take some pictures of her darling girl Louise for their Christmas card and I thought we'd sneak in and get her to take some of us as well. Well, I think the Jacksons got the better end of the deal on this one! I'm sorry Carly! Finn wasn't quite smiling his usual grin as he'd just woken from a dozer nap, but we did get some decent shots. Here's a sneak peak of some of the Jacksons.

Don't you just love that little belly? Ahh.
How I love my family. I'm so thankful for it. What are you thankful for?

Enjoy!

Today...

Yupp. Yupp. Today I'm 20 weeks! I'm sorry mom hasn't posted anything this week. She means to...but I've been keeping her pretty busy. You can really tell cause the house looks like a tornado went through it! Let's just say that night time hasn't been as perfect as she'd like, plus my little personality is coming out stronger and stronger and I know how to tell her what I want these days! I think she's a little tired. She told me today that I better get ready cause Friday night she's putting on the big girl pants again and making me sleep better at night. Ahhh, no biggie. We can do it!

I'm getting close to sitting up though! When I play on the floor if mom holds my toys up rather than letting them rest on the floor, I'm able to balance pretty well. And oh how I love butternut squash! Can you tell in my pictures above? Bananas are next! Mom made up some and froze them yesterday so they're all ready to go. Maybe next week sometime. She's making my own baby food for me. So spoiled I am!

Did we tell you we tried to turn the heat on this week and well...it didn't go on? Yupp. Hence the not sleeping well thing. Mom's been too much of a weenie to let me sleep in the room alone at night with the space heater, so she's been sleeping with me. I'm getting a bit spoiled. It's supposed to be fixed tomorrow, so please keep your fingers crossed!

Until next time.

p.s. Mom promises to do more blogging next week. We'll see how that goes!

Today....

Today I turned 19 weeks! It was a big day for me. I went and saw my favorite pediatrician, Dr. Manley for my 4 month well-baby check up. He was really nice to me; it was the nurse who made me cry. Shots. Fortunately Dad was able to come with mom & me this time. Want to know my stats?

15 pounds 3 ounces in the 37th percentile
26 inches long in the 77th percentile
43 inch head circumference in the 81st percentile:
that's down in percentile this time around from the 92nd! Good thing.
Perfect size head now!

The best part is I got to start on cereals! Yay! Hopefully this will help with my spitting up.

Oh, and I almost forgot: I pooped all over mom in the exam room! Ooopps!

And if you want to see my first tastes of food, check me out here. Please excuse my mother's ridiculous mommy voice....

Until next time...

4 Months!

Finnley, today you are 4 months old! What a big boy. -a little tear from mom- You are growing so fast right before our eyes, and what a little joy you've been for us. You have the most contagious smile, in our eyes, and a laugh that melts our hearts.

This last month you started: rolling over like crazy!, sleeping through the night, reaching and grabbing everything you see so you can explore it & get to know it, spending days away from Mommy while she goes to work, spending nights alone with Dad when Mom works at REI, playing in your Rainforest Jump Jumperoo, petting the kitties, becoming camera shy, and going to the nursery at church and charming all the ladies (big step for mom!). You even went on your first airplane ride to Seattle!

I pray for you every night, snugglepuppy, that you learn to love Jesus and that we can all demonstrate his love for you.

I  can't wait for what this next month of life brings for you.

Love you like crazy. So much it hurts,

mom
