Loving.

I thought I'd share some random thoughts about some things I'm loving today. So in no particular order here you go!

Don't you just love this picture of Finn completely passed out in bed? He rarely sleeps on his back like this. Maybe all the walking he's been doing lately is catching up with him and he's just extra fatigued!

We started getting local, fresh and mostly organic produce delivered to our house on a biweekly basis. We love it! Not only is it awesome to have food delivered to our front door, but we are forced to eat and try veggies we may have not otherwise. We've (including Finn!) been lovin' on some kale and all the different ways to eat it. And to top it off, we get to add extras to the bin such as farm fresh eggs, salmon, extra fruit, grass fed beef or even yummy baked goods.

Finn is completely obsessed with fan pulls. You know, the dangly thing that hangs down from the fan to click it on or off? Yupp, that. We can barely walk by one without him reaching up to grab and pull on it. I'm loving that my husband is so handy and awesome that he made one for Finn for his birthday and had it attached to the underside of a table to he could pull away whenever he feel the urge. Gotta love those handy men. What would I do without him?

Isn' this Free People dress so me?! I love how light and whimsical it is. I found it on The Day Book. It's so darling on Sydney. I think I'd love it for a birthday present....

I'm especially loving that Finnley is walking now. He thinks it's the greatest thing ever! He is so proud of himself. He's keeping himself entertained by dragging his toys around the house, especially his little vacuum. This may be the sole reason I've been able to blog a little more these days!

Please excuse the exposed appendages in this next video. We were airing him out at the time. I couldn't figure out how to cover him up in the video....I'm sure he'll be super embarrassed someday when I show this to a future high school girlfriend.

I'm also loving the Carolina sunshine these days. The humidity hasn't settled in yet so we are soaking in the ability to keep our windows open and spend evening dinners on the back deck. It really doesn't get much better than this!

What's on your list?

Kicks.

I'm so pumped about my new running kicks! I finally broke down and got a new pair recently and I've been able to take them out about three times now. I couldn't be happier. It usually takes me a little bit to break in a new pair and to adjust to a new style, but these new babes feel as though they are a part of my body. I introduce to you the Saucony Kinvaras!

Apparently, these won an award in Runner's World recently; however mine are last years model...great colors though.

I'm really loving these shoes for a few reasons: I do enjoy a minimalist shoe, however I prefer the traditional look of a running shoe with that added support, they are super light weight and they dry right before your eyes after a downpour run!

And while we are on the topic of shoes, I'm also loving these TOMS. I can't seem to keep them off my feet these days, plus I love companies that do Buy-one-Give-one charity. I'm easily sucked in.

Finn will be getting a pair of these very soon......our new little walker is in need of some new kicks!

Any new shoe obsessions?

P.S. Our big day is this Friday. The big O-N-E!

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.

This past weekend Lyle & I had a real date. I mean real date. Babysitter, dinner & show.....7 hours! We hadn't really done anything close to that since our Little arrived.

Lyle recently became obsessed with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. Ever heard of them? They're from Seattle, hence the instant obsession. They are an independent hip hoppy/rapper style group and very talented. Being in the south now I think we were a little behind on their music, but nothing attracts us more than getting a taste of our home. This was probably one of the most entertaining shows I've ever been to; I must admit that. They have a nice range of songs from funny to serious and nostalgic. I even got teared up a bit when they had scenes of Seattle on the big screens.

When Lyle found out they were going to be in the area, he immediately bought tickets and arranged for us to go. The night started out with us driving up to Asheville, NC where we had dinner at this fantastic little joint called Home Grown. Delicious. I can't wait to go back. Then we headed to the Orange Peel (a venue similar to the Showbox, for all you Seattleites. Then we headed home to get back to our little Snuggle Puppy. Good times.

The picture above is the Hunz in front of the tour bus decked out in his appropriate attire. He was about to pee his pants here he was so excited. Funny, when we were getting ready to go he looked at me and what I was wearing and said, "Hon, we are going to a hip-hop rap show". I responded with, "But I actually get to have a date with you, I want to dress "date-like". I really didn't blend in too well with the crowd. Lyle did however.

And a little taste here.....

p.s. fyi...this post was actually a request post by the hunz...

Lovely Dresses.

So I've been daydreaming a lot lately about fitting into clothes the way I used to. I never realized how easy I had it before until now when my body has been morphed and I no longer recognize myself. That belly button is forever changed! It seems myself won't let myself lose that last bit of weight, and even when I do, I don't think it will ever be the same. I've been running and eating well but between regaining muscle, my large and in charge chest of mine, and holding onto fat for breast feeding it's a useless battle.

Now don't get me wrong, I wouldn't give up what I have (meaning sweet baby boy!) for my old self. I love him so dearly and he's worth it all, but it's a hard adjustment when I'm so used to being able to wear and do most things!

Lately I stumbled across some sweet dresses. The south is all about dresses, especially in the summer. I've come to really appreciate that. These three are from ModCloth. I've never purchased from them before but I really like what they have. Sort of an Anthropologie feel with a bit of a lower price tag (of which is coming to Greenville this fall! Yikes! My favorite, but not good for the pocket book!).

What do you think? Note: all of these are currently on sale. Smile. My specialty.

Lost and Sound Dress

Waffle Shop Dress

Oh I can just picture the shoes & boots that could so nicely be paired with these..and belts, necklaces & bracelets.

Well that's it for today. Finn is nicely sleeping for his first morning nap and he is not swaddled! He started breaking out of his Miracle Wrap last week so I'm working on transitioning him. We'll see how it goes.

And for those of you who really only want to see Finn on the blog, I leave you with this video from this past weekend. He's having a ball! Enjoy!

What I'm Loving & Other Obsessions.

I thought I'd take a break from baby for ya'll! Even though Mr. Finn consumes me, my mind does go other places as well and obsesses over other things & items! Here's a few things I have that I'm loving and a few items I'm longing for.

This simple maxi dress from Target I love! It would be perfect to cover my belly and for the hot days here in Greenville.

Finn & I are in love with the Bob. We have this exact one here. I'm obsessed with the masculine purple. It has a University of Washington vibe to it. Don't you think?

I got this MZ Wallace handbag in a light brown color for my birthday off of Ebay. LOVE it! Thanks to my friend Camille, I'm obsessed with this brand. It's so great with the shoulder strap & the cross body strap. It even bodes well as a mini diaper bag when I'm not wanting to tote all the goods with me. However, Lyle told me my handbag collection needs to go on hold now.

Finn & I are loving Sandra Boynton books right now. We got a few as gifts for our showers, but I think we need to add Moo, Baa, LaLaLa to our collection. It's one of my favorites.

I purchased this initial charm & added it to a necklace I already have. I'm obsessed with it. Guess what initial I chose? I'm thinking I need an "L" so my big Hunzie doesn't feel forgotten or left out! It's from Stella & Dot.

These days I'm loving the messy top knot do. Little Finn loves to grab my hair when feeding, plus it's easy to do and allows me to go extra days without washing my hair! Click here for a great tutorial if you're interested. I wish mine looked as great as this one; it's so whimsical and perfectly imperfect.

It's storming here in Greenville today. Our daily run may be skipped or postponed until this afternoon. We'll see. It may just be a cozy day in doors with a nap?? If I'm lucky.

And just incase you were missing this sweet face, I'll leave you with a sweet shot of my darling boy because I am obsessed with him as well!

What I'm Loving.

The season, the holiday, the warmth and spirit. Loving family and blessings, while missing family and friends. Thankful for the little bits of joy to help us enjoy each day.

Merry 5 days 'til Christmas.
