Look at Our Garden Grow Again!

Last summer I showed did a post on our garden late June and mid September. It was a lot of fun to get to watch our garden slowly grow. We got a late start last year due to having just moved into the house and such. Well this year we got started a little earlier. Look at these beauties! Aren't they gorgeous!

The garden's just been taking off so far this spring. We still have some more to plant, but right now we have strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and snap peas.

We also have some tomato starters that my friend Camille started for us. We haven't gotten them all into the ground quite yet though. The herbs are doing really well, but they lasted from last season. There's a special pot for the cats too....catnip from scratch!

This one in particular is going to love it!

Although right now she's really just loving the gorgeous sunshine.

Jackson House Tour

I've been meaning to give you all a house tour for quite some time now. Yesterday I was inspired to take some pictures due to the gorgeous sunshine outside and the fact that I was all ready for guests to arrive....perfect picture opportunity! Here you go! Are you ready? It's tiny but full of love.

Welcome to the Jackson Home

The entry way and living room. Our poor little tree is going through rehab after being out on the front porch during a freeze.

Looking in from the kitchen.

Lyle's office. Freshly painted and mostly untouched by female hands.

The kitchen looking out into the living room.

Guest bathroom.

Our miniature hallway.

Our bathroom. You can see more pictures of this with before and after shots here.

And here's the guest bedroom with more pictures here.

Hope you enjoyed your stay.

20 Weeeeeks! 1/2 Way There!

20 out of 40! Whoohoo! Half way there. Wow. We have a lot to do now. The holidays are over and we are officially over the hill and on the count down now. Preparation for this little guy has not begun but will now start. It's all a little overwhelming but very exciting! Now is the time; the nursery needs to get underway and we have a few major items we need to get for this little darling. This weekend will be the kick off as we paint the office...I know, not the nursery but part of the deal and needs to get done.

As far as me, I'm feeling great! Our little decided to finally pop out in the last week and a half and I can officially say that I'm showing. Between 18 and 20 weeks, the baby grows a lot in weight and size....and this was evident here.

Sleep has been my only issue lately. I have a hard time getting comfortable and often wake up at 2 or 3 o'clock and lay there trying to fall back asleep for 3 hours or so. I've started using that time to, hey, blog!, read, or surf the web. I often wish the gym would just be open so I could go then....but then I fall back asleep right as it opens!

Clothing has begun to change for me! I have officially moved into maternity pants and some shirts. I no longer want to try to fit into my normal jeans and clothes. Maternity wear is so much more comfortable! I've been fortunate enough to have friends lend me some clothes, my mother gave me a couple shirts for Christmas, and I've found some great after Christmas deals that I took advantage of. I really don't want to buy too much though, especially since I can't wear it for long after Little arrives.

Did I mention how much I love Little's little kicks and movement? He's an active little guy. I love it when he lets me know he's here.

Oh, and I mentioned going to the gym. Yupp. I started doing that a couple weeks ago and I'm loving it. It feels so good to get my heart rate up again and sweat a little. I miss running dearly, but the gym has been a nice replacement with a daily walk outside. My butt and thighs have started to recognize that my body's pregnant, so the workouts have been good for them!

Lyle, he's handling this all with grace! He's selfishly giving up space on the bed for all the millions of pillows I've been needing, though continues to struggle with the husband replacement pillow....aka the body pillow!

And then there's Maddy. She's not quite sure what to think of all of this. Look at her staring at my big belly. I often find her snuggling up to it at night.....snug between me and the body pillow. I know she senses something is going to change in our lives; she's getting quite needy.

Merry Christmas Eve! What are your plans today? Lyle's on call today and tonight so I have a few things planned. I'm going to head to the gym for a bit, then do my Christmas cleaning to get the house spruced up for tomorrow, and possibly do some last minute shopping....we'll see. I was planning on going to church tonight, but our church isn't having a Christmas Eve service! Can you believe it? Maybe we'll go in the morning.

I was lying in bed unable to fall back asleep this morning, with my kitten snuggled up on my chest, and thinking about the little things I'm loving right now aside from my darling husband and family. I thought I'd share them with you. This image above is off of Kelly's blog.

1) Cozy kittens. So sweet.

Maddy doesn't really look so sweet here though....

2) Bartlett pears...I'm eating these up like crazy! They have been so very delicious to me. Check out their nutritional information here.

3) Clementines is another fruit I'm eating up as well; just like every year only with a little more vigor this year. They're so juicy and easy to peel. Check out their nutritional information here.

4) My REI CamelBak green BPA free water bottle! It's helping me stay hydrated for sure. You can get this here, but without the Greenville Staff logo; it's reserved for a select crowd.

5) This darling nursery bedding that I found yesterday. Isn't it perfect for a gender neutral room? I'm in love with it. It goes really well with the colors in the room we have for "Little" already and I can spruce it up with some pops of color to accent. What do you think?

I think "Little" really likes the nursery bedding. I'm getting lots of thumps right now.

Merry Christmas Eve. Enjoy your holiday. I'll be back with a very exciting post tomorrow!
